This is why the renewal of the agreement on the export of Kiev’s grain, expiring on 17 July next, represents a crucial issue for Ankara which could see the disappearance of 5 million dollars of customs duties a month if Russia does not renew the temporary treaty with which it allowed Ukrainian cargo ships to travel freely in the waters of the Black Sea from the port of Odessa remotely controlled by the Russian Navy fleet.
Just like the leader of the Wagner Group paramilitaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who attempted a hopeless coup only for the non-renewal of his lucrative contract by the Moscow Defense Ministry, Erdogan is also ready to blackmail and betray Russian President Vladimir Putin above all for money.
Since he cannot explicitly declare to the whole world and above all to the Kremlin that he is ready to break a delicate alliance (kept on the razor’s edge precisely in Syria where Russia supports the legitimately elected president Bashar Al Assad and tolerates the Turkish invasion of Rojava only to not open other war fronts) Erdogan began to send signals to the Tsar of Moscow precisely on the occasion of the visit of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to Ankara during which the question of the agreement on wheat, reached in recent months thanks to the mediation of the Turkey, is a big priority for Kiev in the context of relations with the USA, the European Union and Bill Gates,the great strategist of any development of NATO technologies with artificial intelligence, but also the landlord of cereal fields in Ukraine and in the world .
“I hope that the grain corridor agreement will be extended again, beyond July 17. We expect that it will be prolonged at least for three months, but we favor extending it by two years,” Erdogan said in a televised news conference with Zelensky before telling a colossal lie.
“We held an important meeting in Istanbul last year. Jointly with the UN, the Black Sea Grain Initiative was agreed upon. As part of it, 33 million tons of food has been sent to countries in need. We want the grain initiative to be extended,” he added.
It is a pity that the UN officials have denounced that that grain, by now largely deriving from agricultural plots owned by American multinationals in which Gates also has a hand, has gone minimally to poor African countries but has instead reached the rich European ones even unleashing the ire of some nations with which the European Commissionhad to negotiate an export ban in order not to bring down the price of the national one.
Ukrainian Grains Deal is worth $5 million a month for Turkey
For Erdogan it is just a colossal deal…
Despite wartime forecasts, traffic in the Bosphorus increased dramatically, going from 4,500 ships in 1936 to the current 48,000.
According to export statistics provided to APK-Inform, Ukraine supplied abroad 1.4 million tons of grain in June, down 43% (2.5 million tons), but up 22% compared to May (1.1 million tons). In particular, Ukraine exported 1.2 million tons of corn (-52%, +12% ), 142.7 thousand tons of wheat (-78%, an increase of 3.2 times) and 36.2 thousand tons of barley (-44%, an increase of 3.2 times).
In 2021/22 MY (marketing year) which ended 30 June, Ukraine exported 18.7 million tons of wheat (+13% y/y), 5.8 million tons of barley (+37 % y/y) and 515.5 thousand tons of rye, oats and peas (+35% y/y).
Taking into account the blockade of seaports in Ukraine due to the Russian invasion, the increased export of early grains from EU countries which currently serve as gateways for Ukrainian agricultural products to the world market, as well as production and capacity forecasts logistics, APK-Inform sees wheat export from Ukraine at 12 million tons in 2022/23 MY (+36% y/y), barley – 1.5 million tons (-74%), maize – 23 million tons.
A few weeks after signing the Black Sea Grain Initiative on July 22, 2022, in September, Turkey increased the toll for commercial ships crossing the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits fivefold. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper “Daily Sabah”. The new toll was set at $4 per ton. According to the Ankara authorities, the increase is in accordance with the rights granted to Turkey by the Montreux Convention. The new regulation entered into force on October 7, 2022.
Making two quick calculations, Turkey’s receipts on the Ukrainian merchant ship deal vary from a minimum of 4 million dollars (May 2023) to a potential of 10 million (transit prior to the start of the war in Ukraine).
On the other hand, Russia has already announced that it does not want to extend the treaty for military reasons: “We are thinking of exiting the grain agreement, especially if the corridor is used by Ukraine for attacks with the help of drones,” he told mid-June, Russian President Vladimir Putin in a meeting with war correspondents in Moscow in reference to the attacks attempted by unmanned aircraft of the Ukrainian army both on the Crimean peninsula but also on civilian targets on the Russian border territory and even in the capital.
Ukraine’s entry into NATO also rejected by Biden
Hence the prompt provocative reaction of Turkish President Erdogan.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said that Ukraine deserves to join NATO echoing the words of NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg used for years also with the aim of provoking the Russian invasion and as forecast by New World Order’s mastermind George Soros in the far 1993.
“We have always expressed our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said at a news conference in Istanbul following talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. “Ukraine deserves to be a NATO member.” added Erdogan.
Turkey’s backing could jeopardize its ties with Russia, after the Kremlin warned it was watching Zelenskiy’s visit “very closely”. Erdogan said he will personally brief Putin on the negotiations during the Russian president’s visit next month. But the Kremlin has taken care to say that there is no date set yet…
The act is clearly provocative because even US President Joe Biden, who is expected to have the US Congress ratify the entry of the new ally,
“I don’t think there is unanimity in NATO about whether or not to bring Ukraine into the NATO family now, at this moment, in the middle of a war,” Biden said. “For example, if you did that, then, you know – and I mean what I say – we’re determined to commit every inch of territory that is NATO territory. It’s a commitment that we’ve all made, no matter what. If the war is going on, then we’re all in war. We’re at war with Russia, if that were the case.”.

The second move that prompted immediate condemnation from the Kremlin was even more mocking.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky returned to Ukraine from Turkey bringing with him 5 Azov battalion commanders who had been released from Russian captivity in September 2022 and were being held in Turkey as part of a prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kiev.
““We are coming back home from Turkey and bringing our heroes home,” Zelensky wrote in a Telegram message. The liberated Ukrainian soldiers who defended the Azovstal steel works in Mariupol during the first months of the war are Denys Prokopenko, Svyatoslav Palamar, Serhiy Volynskyi, Oleh Khomenko and Denys Shleha.
The video posted on Zelensky’s Telegram channel shows how the president and Andrey Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s presidential administration, are greeting the Ukrainian servicemen at the airport and boarding the plane together.
On September 22, 2022, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that more than 200 people had been transported to his country after a prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine. Denis Pushilin, the then head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said earlier that, as part of the exchange, Kiev had released 55 servicemen of the allied forces, including four DPR privates and one corporal from the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).
In addition, Kiev released Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk. A total of 215 people, including members of Ukrainian nationalist battalions, were returned to Ukraine.
Allowing former commanders of the neo-Nazi Azov regiment to return to Ukraine is a “direct violation” of the 2022 prisoner swap deal between Moscow and Kiev that also involved Türkiye, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday.
“Both the Ukrainian and Turkish sides breached the provisions [of the deal] in this case,” Peskov said, commenting on the release. He also said that Moscow had not been duly informed of Ankara’s decision to hand over the five Ukrainians.
The Nightmare of Higher Grain Prices for the West
To try to save a revenue of at least 5 million dollars a month, one could also run the risk of betraying the agreements with Russia and the pact of honor with Putin.
But there is the risk of ending up like the wandering ghost Priogozhin and his Wagner mercenaries: by now replaced by new recruits whose exercises were inspected by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, who remained firmly in his post despite the defamations of Wagner’s boss, training camps of the Southern Military District.
It’s hard to believe that the Russian president, strengthened by Prigozhin’s bad experience, will easily give in to the blackmail of the NATO jihadist. In this case, Europe and the entire West risk finding themselves faced with a further emergency due to the risk of large increases in the grain market which, like that of oil, sees Russia among the main exporters.
“The problem is that, if wheat becomes insufficient again, we risk a crisis. Ukrainian wheat is a fundamental resource for raw material markets throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East” Luigino Bruni, Italian economist and journalist told Vatican News.

YEKATERINBURG, July 10. /TASS/. Foreign partners remain interested in cooperating with Russia, despite all the attempts to cut it from global supply and payment chains, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the plenary session of the Innoprom international industrial exhibition.
“We see the interest in the Russian economy is not merely keeping but is growing, despite all the attempts of opponents to cut us from global manufacturing chains, logistical routes and systems of financial payments,” the Prime Minister said.
Industrial production in Russia is growing at the same time contrary to sanctions and such growth has recently expedited, Mishustin added.

Against the backdrop of the failure of another wave of mobilization in Ukraine and in order to hide the catastrophic losses of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Kiev regime has stepped up recruitment work in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to attract foreign mercenaries
– emphasized in the message of the military department.
In the US and Canada, recruitment activities are also intensified. The work is being carried out on the basis of Ukrainian foreign institutions with the assistance of Western intelligence services, primarily the CIA and private military companies controlled by it, the Russian military department said.
Since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, 11,675 foreign mercenaries from 84 states have officially arrived in the country to participate in hostilities on the side of Kyiv, the Defense Ministry specified. The department noted that as of June 30, the death of 4845 of them was confirmed, 4801 mercenaries fled from Ukraine. Now there are 2029 people in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Previously, the most numerous groups arrived from Poland (more than 2.6 thousand people), the USA and Canada (900 or more people), Georgia (over 800 people), as well as Great Britain and Romania (700 or more people each).
The Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine uses foreign mercenaries as cannon fodder. According to information obtained during interrogations of captured servicemen, the commanders of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not held accountable for losses among foreign fighters, and the evacuation of wounded mercenaries from the front line is organized according to the residual principle – only after the removal of Ukrainian servicemen.
No one from the Ukrainian command spares their [mercenaries] lives. Therefore, they have only one choice – to escape from Ukraine or die.
